St. Peter Chrysologus

St. Peter Chrysologus was Bishop of Ravenna in Northern Italy. He is known as the “Doctor of Homilies” for the concise and theologically rich reflections he delivered. St. Peter’s short homilies were his weapon against the paganism that was rampant in Ravenna while he was bishop. He was named a Doctor of the Church by Pope Benedict XII.
