St. Ephrem

St. Ephrem was born in Syria in the year 306 and spent his life as a deacon teaching, defending the faith, writing, and composing poems and music. He was declared a Doctor of the Church in 1920.  “Prayer draws into the soul the Holy Spirit, and raises man to Heaven.” -St. Ephrem
