Our Lady of Fatima
In 1917, Our Lady of Fatima visited three Portuguese children, Lucia dos Santos and her cousins Jacinta and Francisco Marto. Mary asked the children to pray the Rosary every day for peace, the end of World War I, for the conversion of Russia, and for sinners. During the apparition of Our Lady of Fatima on October 13 70,000 people witnessed the movement of the sun around the sky. Our Lady gave three secrets to the children which were revealed in 2000. The secrets included the devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, a vision of hell, and a “bishop in white” with bullets and arrow wounds. Many believe this last vision to describe the assassination attempt of Pope St. John Paul II.
