Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church is a new liturgical feast, added by Pope Francis to the calendar in March 2018. The day celebrates the Blessed Mother under the title that was officially conferred upon her during the Second Vatican Council. As St. John Paul II once remarked, "[the title] reflects the deep conviction of the Christian faithful, who see in Mary not only the mother of the person of Christ, but also of the faithful."
