St. Manuel Míguez González

St. Manuel Míguez González’s life spanned the end of the eighteenth century and the beginning of the nineteenth century. During that time, he was known for his scientific interests as well as his focus on educating women who otherwise would not have gotten an education. During his time as a priest in the Piarists, he was transferred to many places throughout Spain. Wherever he went, he would try to use his understanding of the natural sciences to find remedies for the illnesses of his parishioners. Later in his life, he encountered women who were not given the chance to receive any academic training, so he devoted the rest of his life to providing avenues for all women to be educated.
