Bl. Luigi Beltrame Quattrocchi and Maria Corsini

Patron Saint of Married Couples and Families

Bl. Luigi and Maria Quattrocchi were both born in the 1880s and were married in 1905. They had four children, and while raising their family, they focused on the faith formation of their children. They also started several local faith organizations to help build the domestic Church in their town in Italy. Luigi died in 1951, followed by Maria in 1965. Pope John Paul II beatified them in 2001, making them the first couple to be beatified together. In his beatification homily, he said that the Quattrocchis lived “an ordinary life in an extraordinary way.” Three of their four children attended their beatification.
